A preliminary 3.0 magnitude struck two miles south-east of Marina del Rey at 2:08 pm Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It struck at a depth of 8.1 miles.

There have been no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

The Los Angeles Fire Department tweeted at 2:26 pm: "We remain in a *normal* operating mode following at 2:08 PM PDT #LAquake PRELIM M3.0 #earthquake near #MarinaDelRey http://on.doi.gov/17Pawgo."

That's three or four over the last two months, how does one accustom themselves to such things. Where I live in rural Australia, I am many miles away from any fault line, and those fault lines may cause one tremor in a century
