About 200 people attended the Pacific Palisades Democratic Club (PPDC) grand-opening event at its new 2012 PPDC Westside Democratic Headquarters on Thursday, Sept. 6.

Among the elected official to attend the event were Congressman Henry Waxman, Santa Monica Mayor Richard Bloom, L.A. City councilmember Eric Garcetti, and L.A. City Controller Wendy Greuel.

The event featured an open house from noon to 5 p.m. at its 1408 Third Street Promenade, third floor location in Santa Monica.

A public ribbon-cutting ceremony and convention-watching party was held from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The evening was co-hosted by Organizing for America – California (OFA – CA), which is subleasing space at the headquarters and will hold daily phone banks and other Get Out The Vote activities there between now and Election Day.

The West L.A. Democratic Club is also lending support, and other local clubs may come on board as well.

The office will be open seven days a week through Election Day, likely 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. -- though some days may go longer or shorter.

While OFA – CA concentrates on the re-election of the Obama/Biden ticket, PPDC will do the same, but also focus on helping state and local Democratic candidates and on passage or defeat of the various ballot propositions on the November ballot.

In addition to phone banking and Get Out The Vote operations, the PPDC Westside Democratic Headquarters will be a hub for organizing bus trips to Nevada or other nearby swing states, as was the case in 2008.

It is absolutely certain that the person who get the most absentee ballots will win. Must push hard for voters to go for this form of voting and in that way flush out those voting stations that attach all sorts of difficult identification processes. a good quote: "Hope deferred maketh the heart sick; but when the desire cometh, it is atree of life (Proverbs 13:2) Remember work op ways for the millions to vote absentee for there is the prize!FNF

Is there a possibility that the Obama/Biden 2012 lawn signs could be delivered to the home of those elderly who can't get out much?

I am a registered democrat. As of today 10/16/12 I have not received my sample ballot. I called last week to the register office in Lakewood, they told me to call on the 16th if my ballot didn't arrive by this date. Today, I tried calling them from 9am to now 4pm, I waited on line for 10 minutes several times then was cut off. I have several numbers and none answer. I called HQ downtown and they said a few calls as mine have been received today. It is my great concern that there are no people behind these numbers and a great number of DEMOCRATIC VOTERS will be deprived from voting this year. PLEASE CHECK THIS OFFICE, IT IS NOT MY PERSONAL PROBLEM. I HAD BEEN VOTING FOR YEAR WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS AND DIDN'T MOVE TO A NEW ADDRESS Thank you, Nurit Krauss 310-820-7373
