Happy Fourth of July!:

Santa Monica is all set to celebrate the 4th of July holiday weekend in style, with thousands expected for the Main Street Parade, and neighboring fireworks displays sure to delight.

Main Street Parade

Organized by Ocean Park Association (OPA), the parade kicks off promptly at 9:30 a.m. at corner of Pico and Main Streets and heads south. “Join us anywhere along the route as we make our way to the beach at Barnard Way!” organizers said.

The entire parade route and some streets leading to it will be closed to vehicle traffic all morning. Public parking can be found at the Civic Center Lot ($5 maximum) and beach lots. Public transportation, walking and cycling are recommended to travel to the parade route.
