Award-winning artist Cynthia Kostylo will create murals of Mt. Rushmore and a “We Salute You” military homage – using Heinz Ketchup – at the Johnny Rockets restaurant on Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica today, Feb. 18.

The patriotic holiday event will take place from 4pm to 6pm at the restaurant, located at 1322 Third Street Promenade.

Other family-friendly activities will round out this special Presidents’ Day event including Johnny Rockets American Fries sampling with Heinz Dip & Squeeze Ketchup packages, patriotic coloring sheets for kids to create their own art masterpieces, shake costume appearance for photo opportunities, Johnny Rockets servers dancing to classic tunes, and cinematographer Matthew Givot capturing time-lapse video of Cynthia creating her ketchup murals.

Kostylo is a multiple award-winning Madonnari (street painting artist) who travels throughout North America participating as a chalk artist in festivals.

She was part of a five-artist U.S. delegation that introduced the art of street painting to launch the Beijing Olympics.

Givot is a cinematographer and photographer whose time-lapse work has been featured on NBC and in many films.

Most recently, it was utilized in the arrival of the space shuttle Endeavour in Los Angeles.
