Bail was set at $30,000 for a Santa Monica woman on Friday, Oct. 31 who threw a glass at a female bartender, causing a one-inch cut above the victim’s eye.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to JP’s Bar and Grill at 1101 Wilshire Blvd. at midnight on this day in order to investigate the report of an assault of a bartender.
Upon arrival the officers noted the bartender was being treated at the scene by paramedics for a one-inch laceration above an eyebrow that was bleeding.
The officers spoke with all the parties involved and determined that the female suspect had been drinking in the bar when she (the suspect) had become convinced that the female bartender was being rude to her.
The suspect then decided to deal with the alleged rudeness by launching a glass in the direction of the bartender. The glass hit the bartender on the forehead causing the aforementioned one-inch laceration.
Based upon the evidence the officers arrested this woman and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $30,000.
