A 41-year-old Santa Monica woman was arrested on Saturday, March 23 after drinking four cocktails at The Ivy at the Shore then leaving without paying.
At 9:52 pm officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to the up market restaurant and bar (it is famous for such exotic high-end alcoholic beverages such as their signature Fresh Pineapple Daiquiri) in order to investigate a report of a woman who was attempting to leave the premises without paying her bill.
When the officers arrived they detained the woman and spoke with the bartender in order to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The bartender explained that the woman had entered the bar and ordered and consumed a total of four alcoholic beverages in succession.
When the bartender had presented the woman with the bill she had arisen and exited without paying.
She was also drunk (strong cocktails?). The officers decided to arrest (under a private person’s arrest) the woman, and she was charged with defrauding innkeeper and public intoxication.
Bail was set at $500.
