A man 55-to-60 years old died in a hospital Monday morning after being shot several times in Hollywood, a crime witnessed by an off-duty Los Angeles police officer who helped arrest a suspect and an accomplice, police said.
The shooting occurred at Cahuenga Boulevard and Selma Avenue around 11:55 p.m. Sunday, and suspects Troy T. McVey, 22, and Colby R. Kronholm, 21, were arrested around 15 minutes later, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Sara Faden said.
The victim has not been identified.
McVey was being held on bail of $1 million, according to Los Angeles County inmate records. No court date had been set for him.
The off-duty officer who witnessed the shooting followed the suspects, Lewis said.
The suspects were arrested by homicide detectives from the LAPD West bureau, Faden said.
