Whittier Man Throws Set Of Keys At Girlfriend In Santa Monica, Then Arrested

The male half of a couple who had been dating for more than five years was arrested in Santa Monica on Friday, July 5 after he threw a set of keys at his girlfriend, causing injuries to her face.
At 10:46 pm, officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to the area of Main Street and Bicknell Street after they had received a report of a domestic violence incident.
When the officers arrived they detained a couple so they could begin their investigation.
The officers learned that this couple had been dating for over five years, and on this occasion they had spent most of the day at the beach in Santa Monica, when they became involved in an argument.
The topic of the argument was a breakup, namely the breakup of the relationship between them.
The officers discovered that the male half of the couple had, while he had been seated in their vehicle, thrown a set of keys at the female half, causing two lacerations and swelling to her face.
The officers, upon observing the injuries, arrested the male half, namely a 21-year-old from Whittier, and he was charged with domestic violence.
Bail was set at $50,000.
