My Experience: Big Blue Bus’ Real-Time Updates Inaccurate

As of only a couple of weeks ago, Santa Monicans can now use an application called Transit to track the movement of their Big Blue Bus through real-time GPS updates. In addition to using the schedules posted at stops or looking online – which at best only gives a 30-minute window of when a bus could possibly be arriving – bus users can now see whether or not their bus is behind schedule.

Big Blue Bus February Service Change Begins Next Weekend

Big Blue Bus will introduce several route changes as part of its February Service Change next Sunday, Feb. 8.

City Council approved “an amount not to exceed $570,000” for the purchase and delivery of 174 Big Blue Bus single aisle-facing flip seats and 174 transit bus passenger barriers that were found to be faulty.

Santa Monica City Council Spends $5.94 Million In Two Minutes

With all but one item on Santa Monica City Council’s Consent Calendar passing without discussion last Tuesday evening, the City effectively signed checks totaling a possible $5.94 million for legal work, bus repairs, solar emergency lights, and pedestrian striping.
