Matthews Hits Last Second Three To Lift Samohi Over Loyola 53-50

The Santa Monica High School (29-6) and Loyola (25-8) basketball teams are no strangers to each other meeting for the third time this 2012-2013 season in the So. California Regional Championships at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario Saturday night. The highly anticipated basketball game didn't fail to live up to its billing. With the game tied at 50-50, Samohi guard Jordan Matthews hit a three-point shot to make the game 53-50. Only 1.4 seconds was left on the clock for Loyola to respond.

Loyola Defeats Samohi In Overtime Thriller 83-82

Santa Monica High School made it all the way to the semi-finals in the Third Annual Westsiderentals.com 2012 Tournament before losing to Loyola in a spectacular overtime thriller that saw the Cubs come out on top 83-82 at home Friday night.
