Santa Monica High Asks Community To Commit To Safe Driving

Santa Monica High School staff and students are committed to keeping teens safe on the road. They are asking everyone 14 and older to go to www.celebratemydrive.com once a day, every day now through Oct. 24.

Santa Monica High School’s Celia Daggy and Christopher Pak will perform with the 2014 NAfME All-National Honor Orchestra at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.

Santa Monica teen Cecilia Brine recently returned home after working on an archaeological dig at the Roman City of Pollentia, in the Mediterranean island of Mallorca, one of the most important Roman cities in the days of the Republic and the Empire.

Alex Gironda finally has his no-hitter. Behind the senior pitcher's 86-pitch, eight-strikeout, no-hit performance, the Santa Monica High School Vikings defeated the West Covina High School Bulldogs in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division III playoffs 5-0, Friday afternoon.

Santa Monica High Student Documentary Focuses On Westboro Protest

On the final Monday morning of February 2013, a handful of members of the Westboro Baptist Church took to the streets of Santa Monica and briefly protested in front of Santa Monica High School. The Kansas-based organization believed Samohi’s policy of being accepting of those in the gay and lesbian community was a little too friendly.

Santa Monica High School Announces Sport Tryouts Dates

The Santa Monica High School athletic department has released details for tryouts for many of its sport programs. Student athletes interested in participating in football and want to try out for the sport, should come out June 30 until August 8.

Online Petition To Reinstate Santa Monica High Teacher Reaches 3,500 Signatures

An online petition to reinstate a Santa Monica High School teacher involved in a physical altercation with a student has collected more than 3,500 signatures while a Facebook group "We Support Coach Black of Samohi" has passed 10,000 members.
