Samohi Vikings Volleyball Besiege Inglewood 3-0

The Inglewood (2-5) girls volleyball team stood no chance at winning the game against Santa Monica High School (5-0) as the Vikings blew out the Sentinels in three sets 25-3, 25-6, and 25-11 to advance to 2-0 in the Ocean League.

Vikings running back Russell Revis runs for a 48 yard touchdown after catching the ball off of a screen pass from quarterback Ryan Barbarin to put Santa Monica High School up 14-3 late in the third quarter against Culver City on Oct. 19.  The Vikings won the game 17-3.

Samohi Vikings Second Half Surge Down Culver City Centaurs 17-3

The Santa Monica High School (5-3) football team has been waiting for a leader to step up, and it took until the second half against league rival Culver City (4-4) for quarterback Ryan Barbarin to take the initiative and lead his offense to a Viking victory Friday night.

The Vikings defense holds strong on the final point of the game defeating Morningside 25-8, 25-5, and 25-6 Tuesday afternoon at home.

Santa Monica High School (4-0) overpowered the Morningside (0-4) Monarchs in three straight games 25-8, 25-5, and 25-6 to continue their rise up the ladder in the Southern Section Division 3AA Volleyball Standings and remain at the top of the Ocean League (3-0)

Santa Monica High School receiver Sebastian LaRue races down the sidelines on a 70-yard reception caught at the line of scrimmage against Beverly Hills Friday night.  LaRue appeared to score a touchdown but a penalty annulled the score yet still awarded the Vikings a 40-yard advancement.

Vikings Strike Back Shutting Out Normans 24-0

Santa Monica High School's (4-3) offensive line rose to the challenge Friday night leading a homecoming victory against Beverly Hills High School (1-6) while the defense shut down the Normans offense 24-0 in a ground war that painted the Normans blue and gold on the Corsair Field lifting the Vikings to 2-0 in league play.

Even without star setter Blossom Sato, the Santa Monica Vikings (3-0) volleyball team pulled off a win against rival Culver City (8-10) in three tight sets 25-22, 25-14, and 27-25 showing off a kill factory that will only add muscle and confidence to their season.

The goalies at Santa Monica High School, Jack Schwartzman and Alex Harros, did their job well against Torrance High School Wednesday limiting the water Warriors to only two goals while the offense for the Vikings racked up 12.

Santa Monica High School (2-0) won their first volleyball game at home against the Beverly Hills High School Normans (1-3-1) in three convincing sets 25-17, 25-12, and 25-12 to keep the Vikings undefeated for the season.

Sebastian LaRue has been selected to participate in the 2013 Under Armour All-America High School football game in Florida in a ceremony that will take place at Santa Monica High School tonight at 7:00 p.m.

Samohi Loses To Valencia 41-13

Santa Monica High School (2-2) quarterback Ryan Barbarin threw two interceptions and only one touchdown against Valencia High School (2-2) at home on Friday night during their loss 41-13, yet neither he nor his team gave up even after trailing 28-0 at the half.

Matthew Ciantrone of the Santa Monica High School Waterpolo Vikings is menaced by Patrick Huggins of the Palisades Dolphins while shooting the ball during a home game on Sept. 19. Ciantrone would go on to score four goals in the game.

Jackson Hauty, Matthew Ciantrone, and Robbie Staenberg powered the Santa Monica High School waterpolo team to victory in an intense aquatic shoot out against the Palisades Dolphins with the Vikings coming out on top 14-11.

Defensive back Sebastian LaRue of Santa Monica High School returns an interception against Palisades Charter High for 45 yards at the beginning of the second quarter that led to a Viking touchdown at Palisades High School on Sept. 7.  The Vikings won the game 53-12.

Santa Monica High School (2-0) dominated both sides of the ball blowing out the Palisades Charter High School Dolphins (1-1) 53-12 with junior running back Will Taylor stealing the show and racking up three touchdowns to lead the Vikings to victory.

Santa Monica High School defensive back Matthew Rusk-Kosa returns an interception for a touchdown against Redondo Union during the third quarter on Aug. 31.  The Vikings won the game against the Sea Hawks 42-21.

The Santa Monica High School Vikings won their first football game of the season against the Redondo Union Sea Hawks with a definitive score of 42-21 with Vikings receiver Sebastian LaRue catching two of three touchdowns tossed by quarterback Ryan Barbarin during the course of the night.

All-League Sophomore shooter Jackson Hauty has stepped up his play for the Santa Monica High School Vikings this year and leads the team with most goals scored.
