New turn restrictions on 2nd and 4th Streets began installation Wednesday as part of the City’s effort to keep traffic flowing, Santa Monica City announced this week. Delineators will be installed along 2nd Street and 4th Street in front of each parking structure to restrict left turns.
McClure Tunnel Closure for Maintenance at Pacific Coast Highway (SR-1) Interchange and Santa Monica Freeway (I-10)

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close all lanes of the SR-1/I-10 Interchange at the McClure Tunnel for tunnel washing, crack sealing, brush removal, tree trimming, sweeping, delineator replacement, and graffiti removal on the following nights:

Getting around parts of West Hollywood will be a little more difficult beginning tonight as street closures begin in advance of this weekend's 2016 LA Pride Celebration, which will include musical acts, a festival and parade.

In anticipation of a larger than normal influx of visitors to Santa Monica this Memorial Day weekend, traffic officers and city staff were tasked with directing traffic at busy intersections and in and out of parking structures to help keep streets downtown clear of gridlock.

He or she is driving really fast, using all freeway lanes like it’s their private expressway, honking, not letting you merge into their lane, brake checking and cutting you off, and then you wonder, where is the California Highway Patrol when you need them the most?

Not every award or prize is a good thing. Santa Monica kind of won a Razzie this month from INRIX Inc., a firm that ranks the most congested auto traffic on the planet. In the category identifying the 10 worst stretches of roadway for traffic on earth – that’s right, the entire planet – our Santa Monica freeway was cited for the stretch of the 10 Freeway between 20th and Alameda streets.
