Westside "Purse-Packing Bandit" Cash Reward Could Increase

A proposal by several Los Angeles City Council members would add $10,000 to a $5,000 reward being offered by the FBI for information that leads to the apprehension of the so-called "Purse-Packing Bandit," who's believed to have committed 10 bank robberies on the Westside.

Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti, Congressman Henry Waxman, and Santa Monica mayor Pam O'Connor were in Washington, D.C., on May 21 to receive $2.1 billion in federal funding for the Purple Line subway extension.

Westside Purple Line Extension Gets $2.1 Billion In Federal Funding

Metro joined federal, state, and local elected officials on May 21 to announce the receipt of a $1.25 billion Full Funding Grant Agreement to help pay for the Purple Line Extension Project toward West Los Angeles.

UCLA football coach Jim Mora with wife, Shannon Mora. Jim and Shannon Mora started the Count on Me Foundation, which raises money for disadvantaged and at-risk youths. The annual Jim Mora Celebrity Golf Classic is to benefit that cause.

Stars Line Up for Jim Mora Celebrity Golf Classic

The stars lined up to come out and support UCLA football coach Jim Mora Jr. Mora and wife, Shannon Mora, teamed to come up with a non-profit organization called the Count on Me Foundation, which serves and benefits disadvantaged and at-risk youths.

Council member Kevin McKeown will be honored by the Los Angeles County Democratic Party as 50th Assembly District Democrat of the Year.
