Mirror Columnist Claims Four Medals At Transplant Games

Santa Monica Mirror columnist Tom Elias has returned home with a bunch of medals from the bi-annual Transplant Games of America in Houston, TX, held July 12-15.

The 12U Gold All-Star team will compete at the Western National Championships starting July 28 near Sacramento.

State Might Regulate, Limit High School Football Practice

There is a bill just approved by legislators in Sacramento aiming to limit the amount of live contact at high school football practices. Earlier last week, a Hall of Fame NFL quarterback was at UCLA advocating high school football teams follow the NCAA’s lead and limit live contact football practices to just two times per week.

One day after the end of World Cup 2014, a four-team international soccer tournament featuring players who could represent the United States in future World Cups will begin in Carson today.
