Rock, Pop
Graham Nash at The House of Blues, 10/2. Once a member of
The Hollies, Nash (as the story goes) met Crosby & Stills in 1968 at
Joni Mitchell’s house in Laurel Canyon, after a Hollies concert. They
were so pleased with their collective sound that they formed their
group that same evening. Young joined in 1969, and the rest is
history…
The Tiki Tones, DJ Ben Vendetta at Bigfoot Lounge, 10/2. “The
Future Go-Go Sound…The Tiki Tones have taken the same transistor and
vacuum tube-powered antique synthesizers of the mid-sixties, combined
them with a little year-2002 sampling and looping technology, and
added a dash of surf-influenced guitar.”
