Santa Monica City Council granted Tuesday evening the building located at 2600 Wilshire Boulevard a City Landmark and a Landmark Parcel based upon five of the designation established in SMMC Section 9.56.100(a). The building comes complete with mural “Pleasures Along the Beach,” by Millard Sheets, sculptures “Family Group at the Beach,” by Richard Ellis and “Child with Dolphins,” by John Edward Svenson, as well as a stained-glass window, designed by Susan Hertel. The building currently houses a popular New Balance store.
