On Saturday, April 28, at 2:20 p.m., officers of the Santa Monica Police Department responded to Parking Structure 1 at 1234 Fourth Street regarding a report of a female senior citizen who had been left unattended and somewhat stranded in a parked vehicle on the rooftop of the parking structure.
After the officers had arrived at the scene they began to investigate the case when the suspect, a caretaker (?) arrived.
The suspect admitted that she had been wrong to leave the lady alone, but said that she had some important things to take care of. The old lady was left alone and unattended for about 20 minutes, she stated.
The officers arrested the caretaker (?) and she was charged with elder abuse.
As this 33-year-old Los Angeles woman was being booked the officers were advised that an immigration hold be placed upon the suspect, therefore bail was not given at the time.
