As part of the construction of Phase 2 of the Expo Light Rail Line, work crews will continue with necessary activities to support the construction of the Centinela Avenue Bridge, including implementing two nighttime street closures.
The work is being managed and performed by the Expo Phase 2 design build contractor Skanska-Rados Joint Venture (SRJV) and its subcontractors.
There will be a full closure of Centinela Avenue between Olympic Boulevard and Exposition Boulevard for bridge deck framework removal.
Construction will take place on Centinela Avenue at the Expo ROW Crossing on Thursday, August 22, 2013 and Friday, August 23, 2013 from 9 pm to 6 am.
Construction crews will remove the bridge deck framework that was used for the cast in place concrete bridge over Centinela Avenue.
All traffic lanes will be open to through traffic during daytime hours. Electronic message boards will be used to advise of the closures and manage traffic detours to update commuters as necessary.
Directional signage and/or flagmen will be used to safely direct vehicles and pedestrians around the construction zone.
Parking restrictions in the area will be strictly enforced at all times and signage with specific restrictions will be in place in all construction areas.
Local access to businesses and residences will be maintained throughout all construction activities.
