Santa Monica’s Recreation & Parks Commission will meet this evening, Thursday February 18, at 7:30PM at City Hall with a call for all interested in the future of parks and green space in the city to attend.
The Santa Monica City Staff Report on Santa Monica Parks Needs Assessment, complied in conjunction with LA County, will be presented at the meeting. The report includes the comments and desires of the many residents who attended the January Recreation & Parks Commission meeting at the Santa Monica Civic.
“This meeting will prioritize our city’s desire for more parkland. It’s a chance for residents to have a real chance to help advance their causes,” said Recreation & Parks Commissioner Phil Brock.
Discussion at meeting will cover the Civic Center Playing Field, The Fisher Lumber addition to Memorial Park and the long range agenda for the Commission.
Parks in Santa Monica include playing fields, community gardens, senior centers, and general green space.
