Fire Department Reminds Establishments Not To Overcrowd On St. Patrick’s Day:

Santa Monica drinking and dining establishments have been reminded to employ responsible practices regarding overcrowding on St. Patrick’s Day this Sunday, March 17.

The Santa Monica Fire Department issued the following reminders on Friday:

• An establishment’s occupancy load is limited to the posted occupancy load sign issued by the Santa Monica Fire Department.

• Maintain egress paths.

• Keep exits doors unobstructed.

• Monitor your occupancy load. The best way to do this is to have two door monitors with hand held counters. One is responsible for counting guests entering, and one responsible for guest exiting. Remember this is required as part of the Santa Monica Fire Department occupancy regulations.

Any establishment with questions are urged to contact the Santa Monica Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Office at 310.458.8915.
