Concerned Residents Against Airport Pollution (CRAAP) hold its fifth consecutive Santa Monica City Council Candidates Forum tonight, Sept. 13, with the focus solely on Santa Monica Airport and issues such as air pollution, noise, health, and safety.
The forum will take place at 6 p.m. inside the Santa Monica Business Park, just north of Santa Monica Airport, at 3250 Ocean Park Boulevard, Suite 160, Santa Monica, 90405 (parking lot entrance from 31st Street).
All 15 Santa Monica City Council Candidates, including two incumbents, vying for four open seats have been invited to participate.
The candidates will have the opportunity to make an opening and closing statement.
Martin Rubin, Director of CRAAP, will moderate the forum.
“As we approach 2015, Santa Monica voters are very interested in what will be the City’s stance on the future of the 227 acres that are now Santa Monica Airport,” Rubin told The Mirror. “This election as well as the 2014 election for the remaining three Council seats will determine the makeup of the Council responsible for making the important decisions regarding SMO and directing City Staff to carry out their directives.”
The forum is free and open to the public. There will be free on-site parking with validation.
