The Santa Monica Fire Department will implement a rescue ambulance (RA) pilot study deployment plan on Sunday, Nov. 1.
The pilot study will compare and evaluate the effectiveness of alternative emergency medical service (EMS) response models.
The data collected will include both quantitative and qualitative performance measurements that will be compiled into a report and sent to the Fire Chief and City Officials in July 2016. This study will be conducted over a seven-month period and will not have an impact on how the community currently receives emergency medical services from the Santa Monica Fire Department.
