Santa Monica High School celebrated the graduation of its 678 seniors earlier this month during its “Greekin’ the Nite Away” Grad Night on June 4.
Twenty-three students were recognized as valedictorian candidates with two selected for top honors: Nicholas Charchut, headed to MIT, and David Lin, accepted to Cal Tech.
Nikan Namiri was selected as Salutatorian and plans to attend UCLA.
Nearly 100 students will attend California State Universities and 97 students will attend a University of California school.
More than 150 students plan to attend Santa Monica College in fall. Eight Santa Monica students will attend Ivy League schools: three students will attend Brown University, one student will attend Princeton, two students will attend the University of Pennsylvania, and two students will attend Yale.
With inspirational speeches by students and administration, along with musical performances at each commencement, thousands of family and friends gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating class of 2015.
