The Bungalow At The Fairmont Miramar Hotel Temporarily Closed:

The Bungalow at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel is temporarily closed for business.

The Bungalow lounge at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica temporarily closed Monday while its liquor license is updated. The hotel is taking the opportunity to conduct renovations during the short-term closure.

The hotel’s public relations manager Jacqueline Kerns said earlier this week the hotel was notified that its state issued Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control license to sell alcoholic beverages needed to be amended to include The Bungalow, located on the hotel grounds, about 50 feet from the hotel entrance.

“While the paperwork is completed for this amendment, we are taking the opportunity to perform some needed upgrades and repairs,” Kerns said. “In particular, we are expanding our women’s restrooms and performing other cosmetic work that became necessary because of the large patronage the Bungalow receives. We are working at breakneck speed to get the paperwork and the construction completed and we decided that the work could be completed under an expedited schedule if we temporarily closed the Bungalow.”

Kerns said the hotel apologized for any inconvenience and encouraged guests to visit its Facebook page for updates.

“We are working diligently with the appropriate officials to get the paperwork expedited in an effort to reopen as soon as possible,” she said. “At this time we do not have a confirmed date, but will keep you posted when we do.”

The Bungalow was created by Brent Bolthouse and located near the main entrance of the Fairmont Miramar hotel. It is dubbed as a “low-key lounge” offering “stunning ocean views.”

Within The Bungalow are five areas: the “Study,” main bar, outside deck, private dining room, and game room. The Bungalow itself is a 1947 Baja-style cottage with landscaped gardens and grounds.
