Saint John’s To Host Community Open House, Health Fair Oct. 5:

Since its near destruction from the 1994 Northridge Earthquake, Saint John’s Health Center has been on a mission to complete its state-of-the-art facility.

Through the backing of the community, Saint John’s has managed to raise funds and gather the support needed to redesign and construct its beautiful new buildings.

Now, after a nearly 20 year journey to rebuild, Saint John’s has completed its construction.

To celebrate, Saint John’s is welcoming its beloved community to the grand opening of the new Mullin Plaza on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 12-4 pm with a Community Open House and Health Fair.

For this momentous opening, Saint John’s is offering the community several free screenings, giveaways and much more.

Additionally, tours of Saint John’s OR, Catheterization Lab, Women’s Health Department, Chapel and VIP Caritas Suites will be offered to the public.

Children are also welcome to the opening with complementary face painting, arts and crafts and snacks.

Participants will enjoy free services including demonstrations, vital health information and massages.

Along with booths about services and departments at Saint John’s, the Health Fair will also include tables hosted by several community groups, including the Benjamin Center, YWCA Santa Monica/Westside, the Arthritis Foundation, WISE & Healthy Aging, Meals on Wheels West and the Ocean Park Community Center (OPCC).

Saint John’s will also be hosting a Blood Drive at the event where participants will receive a free mini physical along with two movie tickets for giving blood.

While walk-ins are welcome, donors can also pre-schedule a time to give blood by emailing giveblood@stjohns.org or calling 310.829.8025.

Guests are encouraged to utilize the free event parking located on 21st Street between Santa Monica and Broadway as well as complementary bike valet on Santa Monica Boulevard, next to the event entrance.

The Big Blue Bus Line 1 also offers users two stops at 20th Street and 22nd Street. Guests are also encouraged to walk to the event.

More information about this event can be found on Saint John’s website at www.newstjohns.org/Upcoming_Events/Community_Open_House/Community_Open_House.aspx.
