Three former Defense Secretaries and a former National Security advisor will discuss some of the issues facing the U.S. military at a forum at RAND this evening that will kick off two days of programs marking its move into its new headquarters.
Robert McNamara, Defense Secretary from 1961-68, Harold Brown, Defense Secretary from 1977-81, Frank Carlucci, Defense Secretary from 1987-1989, and Brent Scowcroft, National Security Advisor, 1975-77 and 1989-92, will take part in a panel discussion moderated by RAND CEO James A. Thomson.
Among the issues the four men will discuss are Iraq, the “transformation of the military — how fast, how far?,” and the current global environment and its effects on Defense spending.
The forum will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, April 13, at RAND’s new headquarters at 1776 Main Street.Parking is available at RAND, via the north side of the building.
