The primary purpose of the Topanga Film Festival, which was founded last summer and will be held on August 20 this year, is to provide an intimate arena in which filmmakers and the community can gather informally to exchange work and ideas.
In its inaugural year, the festival screened 12 films in competition and three out of competition. It aims to screen a similar number of films this year.
No panels are scheduled. Filmmakers who attend the
Festival will introduce their films. The winning film will receive the Coyote Award. Industry people, taste-makers and opinionated individuals with ties to Topanga will serve on the jury.
The festival is held in an outdoor canyon setting. There will be a bar, food and DJ’s.
The entry deadline for films is July 1.Festival directors are Sara and Urs Baur. For more information, go to firstname.lastname@example.org
