The Sixth Area American Legion baseball playoffs will take place Thursday through Saturday at Jackie Robinson Stadium, UCLA’s home field.
Santa Monica, which has led District 24 for most of the season, is expected to qualify for the tournament. The team is comprised primarily of Samohi players, including UCLA-bound catcher Cody Decker.
Winners of this week’s competition will advance to the state tournament, held annually in Yountville, Calif.The legion program gives players additional games following the high school season to sharpen their skills.
