SMC Moves Shuttle Lot From Airport to Beach:

Santa Monica College announced yesterday that, beginning on August 29, the first day of the fall semester, it will move its free shuttle lot for day users from Santa Monica Airport to Santa Monica Beach.

The new shuttle lot will be located in Santa Monica Beach lot #5 on Barnard Way, south of Ocean Park Boulevard. The lot will be open from 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

SMC parking will not be permitted on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays or holidays.

The Santa Monica Airport Shuttle lot, on Airport Avenue just west of Bundy Drive, will be open during the day only for students enrolled in classes at the new Bundy Campus, just south of Airport Avenue. Parking will be free for Bundy students.

The Santa Monica Airport Shuttle lot will be open for all students from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Shuttle buses will run to SMC’s main campus at 1900 Pico Boulevard from both sites every 15 minutes.

A free parking permit will be issued by the City of Santa Monica to students on the first day they use the lot as long as they show student IDs and copies of their class schedule. For more information, go to http://www.smc.edu/parking.
