SMC’s Environmental Lecture Series Begins:

Santa Monica College’s fall “Environmental Issues” series of lectures, whose topics will range from  biofuel to biodiversity, will begin Thursday, September 8 with   “How to Make Your Life and Business More Efficient & Sustainable.”

On September 15 the subject will be “Santa Monica College Recycles,” and on September 29, the case for biofuel will be made.

The series will continue on most Thursdays through December 1.

All lectures are scheduled for 6:45 p.m. in Science Lecture Hall 145, 1900 Pico Boulevard. They are free and seating is on a first-arrival basis.

The series is sponsored by SMC’s Center for Environmental and Urban Studies, which is open to the public and features displays, a library and information center, video collection, native garden, and other services and activities related to environmental and urban studies.SMC began offering courses in environmental and urban studies in the fall of  2001.
