The new Bubba Gump Shrimp Company restaurant on Santa Monica Pier is nearing completion. Owners expect it to open in early November.. The architect is Howard Laks, AIA Architects, who designed The Lobster restaurant at entrance to the pier in 1999. Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is located on the site of the old Boathouse restaurant.
