Football

Venice High’s three-time Western League champion football team defeated Granada Hills, 40-14 in a non-league game last weekend.

Venice will be home Friday night against Banning, a longtime LA City Section power that is winless this season and has already made a coaching change.

Malibu High evened its non-league football record at 2-2 with a 24-13 win over St. Genevieve last weekend.

This Friday night Malibu will be home against Brentwood.

After losing to Santa Monica September 16, Palisades High has defeated South Gate 33-21 and Monroe 10-6.

Palisades will be home Friday night against St. Monica.

Volleyball

The Santa Monica High girls began their season with a straight set loss to El Segundo, who is undefeated. The scores were 25-10, 25-19, 25-19.Venice hosted a girls’ tournament involving 20 teams. San Pedro defeated Chatsworth in the championship match.
