Reserved For Rosa Parks:

On December 1, the 50th anniversary of the day Rosa Parks, a small, middle-aged African American seamstress in Montgomery, Alabama, refused to give her seat on city bus to a white man, Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus reserved the first seat on each of its buses in her name.

Parks’ arrest sparked a bus boycott that, in turn, set the civil rights movement in America in motion.

Parks died two months ago.
