Bomb Scare at Hooters is False Alarm:

Later the same day, Santa Monica Police officers were called to Hooters Restaurant on the Third Street Promenade to investigate a bomb threat.

A bomb-sniffing dog “indicated” a TV set, according to SMPD Lieutenant Frank Fabrega, the L.A. County Sheriff’s bomb squad was called in, and the area was cleared.

No bomb was found.

Apparently, a woman’s group had claimed that bombs had been placed in Hooters outlets across the nation and were wired to go off simultaneously.
