Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning $5 billion to public education and the Santa Monica Malibu Classroom Teachers Association couldn’t be happier.
The money, owed to public schools due to Proposition 98, is much-needed, and will “help with class sizes, teacher training, health plans, everything,” says John Adams Middle School counselor Larry Silvers.
Harry M. Keiley, the Association’s president, states, “This is going to make our schools better. This is going to make the lives of our children and their teachers better. Our students are held to the highest standards. I’m thrilled that the Governor is finally helping them to meet those standards.”
