The Jr. Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the oldest symphonies for youth in the nation. Conductor Dr. Ernst Katz founded the symphony in 1937, and today the orchestra is made up of over 100 excellent young musicians. It is not commercial and doesn’t get any funding from the government.
Applications are now being accepted for the Jr. Philharmonic’s 70th anniversary season. Musicians must be between the ages of 12 and 25. There are no costs involved. For information, call 323.272.3667 or go to www.jrphil.org.
