In celebration of Disability Awareness Month, the Santa Monica Disabilities Commission (SMDC) will be honoring a local organization.

The SMDC will be giving Circle of Friends the Commission’s very first award. Circle of Friends is the Samohi-based student organization that “works to create relationships between Samohi students with disabilities and their typical peers.”

The ceremony – featuring local talent, artist displays and the latest technology in assistive care – will be held on Saturday, October 28, from 1-4 p.m. at the Santa Monica Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard.
