Assembly Bill 32 has been signed into law by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The September 27 signing took place on the Pepperdine campus in Malibu. AB 32 co-authors Fran Pavley and Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez were among the many in attendance. The bill aims to reduce California’s greenhouse gas emissions.
“I am very proud that this legislation is the first in the country to cap greenhouse gas emissions,” said Pavley. “I hope that our representatives in Washington D.C. are taking note, because it is past time for our nation as a whole to take action to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that are causing global warming.”
