What’s Hot:

George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic, March 17, doors open 8pm

When one thinks of St. Patrick’s Day, funk guru George Clinton probably isn’t the first name which springs into your head. That being said, who really cares? You’ll be surprised just how tasty a tall, cold, green beer can be when accompanied by the sounds of the original master himself. Experiencing Clinton live is a true treat and doing so in a minute venue such as the Malibu Inn is even better. Let the true king of funk along with his colorful cast of supporting characters work his magic. He’s certain to throw some stank in your hips and boogie wooogie on your brain.

KRS-One, March 23, 7:30pm

We don’t generally list two What’s Hot picks from the same venue, but this time an exception was in order. For anyone who’s a fan of old school, east coast hip-hop, checking out KRS-One is a definite must. From his days with the legendary Boogie Down Productions (one of the most influential and purest hip-hop outfits of the ’80s) to his impassioned and provocative solo offerings, KRS-One (aka “The Teacher”) is an artist not to be missed.
