The Palisades High softball team went on the road and defeated Grant High of Van Nuys, 4-2, in a Los Angeles City Section playoff game.
Venice High, also representing the Western League, lost its playoff opener to Sylmar, 5-4. The Gondoliers ended the season with 18 wins.
