Westside Football Season Opens for Three Teams:

Although a full schedule of high school football games won’t begin until September 7, three Westside teams will start their seasons this weekend.

Venice will play at San Fernando Thursday, August 30, in a game between highly regarded LA City Section teams. The result was not available at press time.

Brentwood will be home against Kilpatrick Friday, August 31, at 4:15 p.m. and Malibu will play Bellarmine-Jefferson Saturday, September 1, at 2 p.m. at Burroughs High in Burbank.

All other teams will play the following weekend, including Santa Monica High’s opener against Hueneme High at Corsair Field Friday, September 7, at 7 p.m.
