A Day Without A Bag

December 20

At the request of Heal the Bay, the City of Santa Monica has officially proclaimed December 20 as “A Day Without A Bag.” Holiday shoppers are encouraged to use reusable tote bags rather than single-use plastic bags to reduce the amount of waste and landfill and protect our marine environment. Free reusable bags will be given away (go to healthebay.org for specific locations). And you can sign a petition urging LA County to ban the use of plastic bags at stores: thepetitionsite.com/1/ Ban-Plastic-Bags-4-LA-County.
