Hollywood legend Mel Brooks is surrounded by fans after last Friday’s showing of Blazing Saddles at American Cinematheque’s Aero Theatre in Santa Monica. The Aero held an eight-day retrospective of 11 Brooks films. A longtime Santa Monican, Brooks appeared in person at three of the screenings and true to his art, was zany, engaging, and a delight for those lucky enough to get into the sold-out performances.
