Baseball Roundup:

St. Monica has struggled offensively, compiling a team batting average of only .137 while losing seven of 10 games. The Mariners have two wins and a tie but are 0-3 in the Del Rey League.

 St. Monica lost to St. Paul, 2-1, then to El Segundo, 15-0, and La Salle, 7-0.

 Venice High ended a seven-game losing streak by defeating Fremont, 9-3, and has a 3-11 record, all in non-league games.

 Scotty Takade leads the Gondoliers in batting at .625. Three pitchers have one win apiece – Nick Blair, Zack Mandell, and Anthony Smith.

 New Roads lost to Windward, 13-5. The Jaguars’ record is 2-2.
