Jammin’ the Jammers

April 3

Self-described “agitprop archaeologist” Gerry Fialka believes that a number of artists during the late 1950s had a profound effect on the culture shake-ups that followed. In tribute, Fialka is presenting this evening of film clips featuring “cultural jammers”: musicians John Cage and Korla Pandit, and comedians/social commentators Lenny Bruce, Errnie Kovacs, and Lord Buckley. There will also be discussion with radio host Reverend Dan, and writers Michael Simmons and Marc Herbst.

7pm, $7 (no one turned away for lack of funds), Beyond Baroque, 681 Venice Blvd., Venice, 310.822.3006.
