In 1997, Anne & Kirk Douglas created the Anne & Kirk Douglas Playground Award to fund a total of 400 projects, providing over $8 million in funds to participating Los Angeles Unified School District schools to create safe and inspiring playgrounds for more than half a million children throughout the region.
