Man Draws On Police:

Santa Monica police arrested a man who drew a gun on them on Wednesday, July 2. At 6:25 p.m. that day, officers working an undercover operation in the Pico neighborhood contacted the man who was in possession of a firearm. He pointed the firearm at one undercover officer who had identified himself as a police officer, and he then tossed the gun away and fled on foot. Police quickly apprehended the suspect and recovered the firearm.

The man is Jason Anthony Hurtado, a 25-year-old Santa Monica resident. Hurtado was booked for assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and violation of probation.
