The 39 community colleges in Southern California who field football teams have formed the Southern California Football Association.
As a result, teams will no longer play in their former conferences or divisions.
Santa Monica College will compete in a division of the American Conference. One opponent will be West Los Angeles College.
The other grouping, the Mountain, is regarded as the one with the strongest teams. The leagues are for football only and a review of the divisions will be made every two years.
Teams are permitted to begin practice on August 15 and games will start in September.
