Alert: Police Blotter:

Intoxication and Urination.

In the early hours (1:43am to be precise) of Monday, January 26th, officers of The Santa Monica Police Department were on patrol in the 2500 block of Pico Boulevard when they witnessed a man urinating near a motor vehicle. Upon closer observation the officers determined that the man was under the influence of alcohol. The officers decided that the man was not capable of exercising care for his own safety and so arrested him for public intoxication and urinating in public. The man, incidentally, was from Philadelphia.

Intoxication and Possession.

At 3:05am on the 27th of January officers were conducting a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Franklin when a drunken man walked up to them and began to interfere with the proceedings. The man claimed that he was the roommate of the driver of the stopped vehicle and demanded that the officers let him go. The officers instructed the drunken man who had interfered to return to his home (presumably very close by), but he refused and continued to interfere, so the officers arrested him. Whilst they were searching him the officers discovered that the man was in possession of hashish (the concentrated resin from the flowering tops of the female hemp plant of the genus cannabis). He was subsequently booked for public intoxication and possession of concentrated cannabis.

Domestic Violence.

On Thursday, January 29th, at 3:20 in the morning, officers of The Santa Monica Police Department responded to a report of a domestic abuse. Upon the officers’ arrival at the location, a man informed them (the officers) that he had experienced an argument with his live-in girlfriend (their first argument?). At some point during said argument he alleged that his girlfriend had purposefully scratched him and had attempted to take the phone from him whilst he was calling the police for help. The officers quizzed the live-in girlfriend about the incident and then placed her under arrest. She was booked for domestic violence and interfering while a victim (in this instance her boyfriend) was trying to summon police assistance.
